Summary, etc. Laser-induced graphene (LIG) from polymer materials majorly polyimide (PI) was discovered in 2013 at Rice University , US. Due to its single fabrication process and scalability , it attracted a lot of attention from researchers than the 2D graphene that was complex and costly to produce Moreover , the conductivity of LIG was found to be lower than that of single layer graphene and copper but sufficient for use in diverse applications like micro heaters , supercapacitors, sensors , etc... Most of the studies on producing LIG with different morphologies and electrical properties have focused on varying parameters in particular laser power and scanning speed while maintaining pulses per inch (PPI) constant Therefore , there is still a need to optimize LIG fabrication by varying all the three significant lasing parameters majorly laser power , scanning rate , and PPI to achieve better electrothermal properties with enhanced mechanical strength to avoid the LIG brittleness problem The main aim of this work was to fabricate LIG-based films with high electrothermal performance by synthesizing LIG from PI sheets at varied lasing parameters (laser power , scanning speed, and PPI) , characterize it using SEM , XRD , TEM , FTIR , Raman , and EDS , and evaluate its electrothermal performance , model and simulate temperature distribution of LIG heater for comparison with experimental and theoretical results This has been achieved through experimental approach by introducing micro scratches on the PI surface to make it rough and adding PDMS to improve the LIG adhesion strength whereas analytical and FE models have been developed to predict the temperature distribution and its uniformity for a microheater
