The aims of this symposium are to exchange recent findings and achievements of the Global-COE program "Global Education and Research Center for Earth and Planetary Dynamics" in Tohoku University. The symposium will cover the following topics on Earth and planetary dynamics that have been studies by five sub-groups of the G-COE program:
Dynamics of the Earth and Planetary Interiors;
Dynamics of Earthquakes and Volcanism;
Climate Changes;
Origin and Extinction of Life;
Planetary Evolution.
Excellent recent studies on these topics by invited leading scientists at other universities and institutes will be also presented.
The symposium will have about 20 oral presentations by G-COE members in Tohoku University and about 30 oral presentations by the guest speakers, as well as over 100 poster presentations by young scientists and graduate students
