Summary: The impacts of the current global financial crisis on sustainable development (SD) have been subject to polarised debates. Interestingly, a common denominator of the debates is that there are various lessons for the global community to learn from the environmental impacts of the crisis, be those impacts positive or negative. While there is a tendency across the board to focus on the economic impacts of the crisis, such as longer unemployment lines, declining individual and corporate assets, mounting toxic loans and silent construction cranes, the view in this address is that the crisis offers a rate but slim window for the world, especially environmental advocates, activists and scholars or analysts, to reflect on, rethink and recalibrate the discourse and strategy of how to ensure and maintain a balanced relationship between growth and society's natural resource base New and previously unacknowledged challenges of sustainability, base of pyramid engagement and the management of risk in globalised world, redefine strategic performance for organisations. Based on original research involving senior leadership from a number of countries and organisations leading and managing in contemporary uncertainty using a set of three practices taken together and working in harmony. The first is the practice of "sharing fates and independence, the second is one of "exploring deeper meaning" and the third is the emerging practice of "Zeitgeist" (e, integrating cognition, conscience and collective sprit). In recent decades, the rise of globalisation has increased the prospects of sustaining development through the use of modem-information and communication technology (ICT). Most developing countries till lacking to knowledge and information for increasing productivity and aviating poverty. The ICT could be used a powerful tool to sustain development by enhancing allocation of resources and management of the environment to this end, building ICT capacity allows developing countries to aspeb, agity and create knowledge and disseminate information. Sustainable development is about learning how to bridge the gap between present and future generations. During the last decades, energy and energy prices have occupied a substantial space in the literature on development studies and international relations. In modern time, no society can survive without energy use. Currently, conventional energy sources, mainly oil and gas, account for almost 85% of total energy consumption worldwide. These resources are non-renewable and unevenly distributed across regions. Recent increase in oil prices, driven by rapideconomic growth, hasimpactedeconomic growthin many rationing unemployment, inflation and global recession. In particular, higher petrol prices ould have negative consequences to development programmes in many developing countries. Sustainable development is continues process of productivity growth driven by energy production and consumption Health research is essential for improvement not only in health but also in social and economic development. During the present, many challenges ace human health (ie, EBOLA), Among these challenges, communicable, non- communicable diseases and injuries have the highest impact. Making success in these challenges is supported by many needs which should be targeted by all health researchers to ensure a common policy. A triad of success should link policy making with health research and health services. The aim of this study is to highlight the importance of indigenous knowledge for fostering economic growth and sustainable development. Recent literature on development studies considers knowledge as a key resource that can alleviate poverty, promote innovations, enhance competitiveness and create wealth. Development is a complex process of multidimensional factors involving both local and external forces. Knowledge for development must be appropriate in relation to a country's environmental, social, cultural, spiritual and economic landscape. Authors

The impacts of the current global financial crisis on sustainable development
(SD) have been subject to polarised debates. Interestingly, a common
denominator of the debates is that there are various lessons for the global
community to learn from the environmental impacts of the crisis, be those
impacts positive or negative. While there is a tendency across the board to
focus on the economic impacts of the crisis, such as longer unemployment
lines, declining individual and corporate assets, mounting toxic loans and

but slim window for the world, especially environmental advocates, activists
and scholars or analysts, to reflect on, rethink and recalibrate the discourse
and strategy of how to ensure and maintain a balanced relationship between
growth and society's natural resource base
New and previously unacknowledged challenges of sustainability, base of
pyramid engagement and the management of risk in globalised world, redefine
strategic performance for organisations. Based on original research involving
senior leadership from a number of countries and organisations leading and
managing in contemporary uncertainty using a set of three practices taken
together and working in harmony. The first is the practice of "sharing fates
and independence, the second is one of "exploring deeper meaning" and
the third is the emerging practice of "Zeitgeist" (e, integrating cognition,

In recent decades, the rise of globalisation has increased the prospects
of sustaining development through the use of modem-information and
