520 _aThis study employed wavelet-based analysis to compare Pc5 waves observed in space and on the ground It aimed to validate the coherence of Pe5 wave events across different environments and to investigate the possibility of their generation from shared sources Additionally, the study sought to correlate Pe5 waves with ionospheric scintillation events and to develop machine learning models for predicting these scintillations using relevant data The study utilized Pes wave data from the Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite (GOES - 10) satellite and two auroral ground-based magnetometers from the Svalbard network, covering the solar cycle 23 (2000-2009) The magnetic field data from GOES-10 were converted into a mean field-aligned coordinate system using the empirical mode decomposition (EMD) method, focusing on the Bz component for terrestrial data and the toroidal component for satellite data Stein's Unbiased Risk Estimate (SURE) method with soft thresholding was employed to denoise the extracted Pe5 events. Wavelet-based analysis was used to study the signal characteristics in both the time and frequency domains, ensuring the identification and validation of Pes ultra-low frequency (ULF) wave events The study found a good coherence between Pes events observed in space and on the ground, indicating a common generation source However, Pes waves observed in space had smaller amplitudes (21 nT) compared to those detected on the ground (350 nT), likely due to factors such as absorption, reflection, ionospheric ducting, and spatial fluctuations The wavelet-based analysis effectively identified Pe5 ULF wave events and validated signals recorded at different stations Pe5 events extracted from the auroral ground magnetometer stations showed a high correlation with the Kp index, validating the integrity of the extracted Pe5 events Finally, we observed that the percentage of events retrieved from the ground was 86 % and that in space was 94 %. The difference between both events during the years was due to the spatial distribution of Pe5 events
